            <para>This data comes from INBOVEG, the INBO vegetation record database (also part of the "Global Index of Vegetation-plot databases" and the "European Vegetation Archive").The GBIF dataset is the same as the data in INBOVeg. The relevant identification code is 'IV2014062311261571'.</para><para>This dataset has been previously published on GBIF as part of the FLORABANK1 bulkdata publication (https://doi.org/10.3897/phytokeys.12.2849) at either a 1 km² or a 4 km² scale; here they are published as specific locations with 3.5m² uncertainty. This uncertainty is an estimate, as the coordinates given are from the centre of each 5 metre x 5 metre plot and no uncertainty was recorded at the time. The uncertainty has therefore been estimated as the maximum distance from the centre of the plot to each corner of the plot. In the data, under 'Occurrence remarks', the vegetation layer is noted. All records and identifications were carried out by trained experts. </para><para>Details of the project, including the sampling protocol, are given in the associated journal article "Piesschaert, F., Mertens, J., Huybrechts, W., De Rache, P.         <purpose><para>This dataset was collected as part of a study investigating different approaches to constructing landscape dikes with dredged material. Mowing and sowing measures were followed alongside no-measure plots on an experimental dike along the river Scheldt, with repeated surveys recording the early stages of vegetation succession and the developing plant communities under the different conditions.</para></purpose>
