This animal tracking dataset is derived from Koks et al. (2022, https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.6574736) a deposit of Movebank study 922263102. Data have been standardized to Darwin Core using the movepub R package and are downsampled to the first GPS position per hour. The original dataset description follows.
H_GRONINGEN - Western marsh harriers (Circus aeruginosus, Accipitridae) breeding in Groningen (the Netherlands) is a bird tracking dataset collected by the Grauwe kiekendief - Kenniscentrum Akkervogels (GKA) / Dutch Montagu’s Harrier Foundation and published by the Research Institute for Nature and Forest (INBO). It contains animal tracking data collected for the project/study H_GRONINGEN, using trackers developed by the University of Amsterdam Bird Tracking System (UvA-BiTS, http://www.uva-bits.nl). The study was operational from 2012 until 2018. In total 4 individuals of Western marsh harriers (Circus aeruginosus) have been tagged in their breeding area in the province Groningen (the Netherlands) close to the Netherlands-Germany border, mainly to study their habitat use and migration behaviour. Data are uploaded from the UvA-BiTS database to Movebank and from there archived on Zenodo (see https://github.com/inbo/bird-tracking). No new data are expected.

The data in this occurrence resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. The core data table contains 65,022 records.
This IPT archives the data and thus serves as the data repository. The data and resource metadata are available for download in the downloads section. The versions table lists other versions of the resource that have been made publicly available and allows tracking changes made to the resource over time.
The table below shows only published versions of the resource that are publicly accessible.
