Description
Data Records
The data in this sampling event resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. The core data table contains 22 records.
1 extension data tables also exist. An extension record supplies extra information about a core record. The number of records in each extension data table is illustrated below.
This IPT archives the data and thus serves as the data repository. The data and resource metadata are available for download in the downloads section. The versions table lists other versions of the resource that have been made publicly available and allows tracking changes made to the resource over time.
Versions
The table below shows only published versions of the resource that are publicly accessible.

Project Data
After a number of years of biological monitoring in the Smeetshof nature reserve in Limburg, Flanders, Belgium, a final evaluation of the monitoring was planned to follow the tenth and final year of monitoring. INBO carried out this final monitoring on behalf of the Flemish Land Agency (VLM), as well as drawing up an evaluation report to discuss both the development of the site during the years of monitoring, as well as the monitoring methodology used. At around the same time as this report, the Flemish Agency for Forest and Nature (ANB) were also writing their own management and monitoring programmes for the area, and INBO's report was intended to assist/complement these efforts.

Sampling Methods
Please see the (Dutch) reports Van der Aa B. et al., 2017 & Van Uytvanck J. et al., 2017. Permanent Quadrant (PQ) surveying was carried out in 50 m x 50 m squares, using the Tansley abundance scale. In the data, under 'Occurrence remarks', the vegetation layer code is noted. More information can also be found in the INBO vegetation protocols from Vermeesch & De Bie here: https://protocols.inbo.be/2023.03/index.html and on the associated zenodo protocol-bundle here: https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.7619958.
| Study Extent | Please see the (Dutch) reports Van der Aa B. et al., 2017 & Van Uytvanck J. et al., 2017. In this dataset, the location uncertainty has been set to 75 m. This is due to the 50 m x 50 m quadrant size x 1.5. |
|---|---|
| Quality Control | Please see the (Dutch) reports Van der Aa B. et al., 2017 & Van Uytvanck J. et al., 2017. All observations and identifications were made by trained experts. |
