Descrição

This dataset was gathered as part of an INBO and Flemish Land Agency project investigating the natural ecosystem development in the Smeetshof nature reserve and looking at different manners of monitoring and managing the site. More details can be found in the (Dutch) reports Van der Aa B. et al., 2017 & Van Uytvanck J. et al., 2017.This data was and is stored in INBOVEG, the INBO vegetation record database (also part of the "Global Index of Vegetation-plot databases" and the "European Vegetation Archive").The GBIF dataset is the same as the data in INBOVeg. The relevant identification code is 'IV2015121714510259'.In the data, under 'Occurrence remarks', the vegetation layer code is noted. All observations and identifications were made by trained experts. To allow anyone to use this dataset, we have released the data to the public domain under a Creative Commons Zero waiver (http://creativecommons.org/publicdomain/zero/1.0/). We would appreciate, however, if you read and follow these norms for data use (http://www.inbo.be/en/norms-for-data-use) and provide a link to the original dataset whenever possible. If you use these data for a scientific paper, please cite the dataset following the applicable citation norms and/or consider us for co-authorship. We are always interested to know how you have used or visualised the data, or to provide more information, so please contact us via the contact information provided in the metadata or via opendata@inbo.be.

Event (core)
22
Occurrence
359

This IPT archives the data and thus serves as the data repository. The data and resource metadata are available for download in the downloads section. The versions table lists other versions of the resource that have been made publicly available and allows tracking changes made to the resource over time.

Dados Sobre o Projeto

After a number of years of biological monitoring in the Smeetshof nature reserve in Limburg, Flanders, Belgium, a final evaluation of the monitoring was planned to follow the tenth and final year of monitoring. INBO carried out this final monitoring on behalf of the Flemish Land Agency (VLM), as well as drawing up an evaluation report to discuss both the development of the site during the years of monitoring, as well as the monitoring methodology used. At around the same time as this report, the Flemish Agency for Forest and Nature (ANB) were also writing their own management and monitoring programmes for the area, and INBO's report was intended to assist/complement these efforts.

Métodos de Amostragem

Please see the (Dutch) reports Van der Aa B. et al., 2017 & Van Uytvanck J. et al., 2017. Permanent Quadrant (PQ) surveying was carried out in 50 m x 50 m squares, using the Tansley abundance scale. In the data, under 'Occurrence remarks', the vegetation layer code is noted. More information can also be found in the INBO vegetation protocols from Vermeesch & De Bie here: https://protocols.inbo.be/2023.03/index.html and on the associated zenodo protocol-bundle here: https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.7619958.

Área de Estudo Please see the (Dutch) reports Van der Aa B. et al., 2017 & Van Uytvanck J. et al., 2017. In this dataset, the location uncertainty has been set to 75 m. This is due to the 50 m x 50 m quadrant size x 1.5.
Controle de Qualidade Please see the (Dutch) reports Van der Aa B. et al., 2017 & Van Uytvanck J. et al., 2017. All observations and identifications were made by trained experts.
